Do not throw away the little boxes!

My message today is: do not throw away those little boxes! Well, at least not all of them… Those boxes can help you keep your pastels “in use” separate from the others while you are working on a painting, and this is useful because if facilitates the identification of pastels. This is particularly useful practice when you have a relatively large pastel palette, that is, if you have many colors in similar values. That dark blue we were using, in an ocean of other dark blues may not be easy to locate if you accidentally put it back in the general tray for blues. The tactic to re-use the little boxes –in addition to being environmentally friendly-, will help you paint in a more orderly fashion and will help you save time…
